{School} Drunk on Books

Finals Week Fashion

Baseball tee / Miss Selfridge distressed jeans / Silver shoes / The North Face backpack, $97 / Vinyl revolution, $15 / Fendi makeup / Home decor / Kate Spade office accessory

Finals week is the source of stress for college students. Beyond all the papers, projects, meetings, extra curricular activities, and tests that we have throughout the entire year, finals week with the final exams and mock interviews, and presentations is the last hurdle to get through. Beyond the last final is three months of pure freedom from school books.

Today's look is similar to things that I wear during finals week. Comfortable shirt, my favorite jeans and sturdy shoes to move you from one side of campus to the other. For makeup, I would keep it very simple. A winged eyeliner, and my glasses will do. Hair is probably in a bun or a half bun look. A heavy duty backpack, keeps all my books at bay, and a sketchbook, for jotting down ideas when I need a break from the computer screen. And don't forget the cute pens, hello Kate Spade ;)

I thought the "drunk on books" shirt was perfect for finals week. I love to read, and then during finals week you are doing a TON of extra reading.

I hope you all power through your final exams!

April has ended and now we are at the beginning of a brand new month, which is super exciting! I'm doing a gym inspiration post today, this week marks 5 weeks of my new lifestyle and I couldn't be happier. I've made some great progress so I wanted to create a set with some cute clothes to inspire you to hit the gym! It doesn't have to be a excruciating process, just a simple 40 minute session on the bike a couple days a week will make more difference than you realize. I've just been doing mostly basic stuff, like the bike, elliptical and the treadmill, 45 mins a day, 5 days a week. When I get home (in two days- what?!) I have plans to get some more workout leggings, because I only have one pair I really like and they have a couple of small holes I need to fix.

Where is your favorite place to get cute workout gear?

APRIL WISHLIST
Today I bring you my April Wishlist, it's fairly late in April to be putting this up, but a post that I am working on isn't ready yet so I decided to do this for today.
1) White Tank Tops - I've been obsessed with white tank tops, I really want to get more white into my wardrobe. And some white tank tops would be a perfect edition. Especially with the summer time soon upon us. Another reason is that I am excited to show off my tattoo, and I have to make sure I cover it with sunscreen this summer.
2) Birkins - I really would like to get a pair of these. I've read that they are super comfortable and I find them very cute.
3) Gym Shorts - I've been working out everyday for the past few weeks, and I want to get a few new pair of gym shorts and work out leggings. I have been doing so well with going to the gym everyday and I think that investing in some new workout gear will keep me motivated. I have been enjoying my daily workouts, and feel great!
4) Coco Mademoiselle Perfume - I've been wanting this for sometime now, and I'm not sure if I will be getting it or not, but it is on my list.
5) Tassel Necklace - I think these are so gorgeous, especially for spring and summer, and against those white tank tops, how cute would that be?!
6) Light Wash Ripped Jeans - I've ripped two pairs of my jeans on this trip (ugh), and I am hoping to get a couple pairs to replace them when I come back to the States.

Weekend Capsule Wardrobe

Something that I have really discovered my love for while being abroad is packing for a weekend trip. And, packing for a weekend is so much easier with a capsule wardrobe. I will most definitely be doing more posts about capsule wardrobes in the future, because they are an incredible time saver and really streamline your wardrobe. They are actually really popular right now with bloggers such as Unfancy, and Project 333. The whole idea behind capsule wardrobes are doing more, with less. Having a wardrobe that is cohesive, mixes and matches to perfection, and makes it easier in the morning to get dressed. Which, is very true. I created a capsule wardrobe in the fall of 2015, it began with searching for hours on Pinterest about what to pack to travel abroad, and I fell in love. I redid my whole wardrobe, with what I had. I did buy a few things. Like a striped button down, and 4 tees from H&M (white, grey, olive, and wine). But I went through my clothes, picked my favorite tops and realized that there was a theme, and I ran with it. Flash forward to here in Ireland, and the capsule wardrobe makes it a breeze to pack. The items above are some that I have in my closet (might not be same brand), and I will be packing for this weekend. **Sorry everyone, this post went up a day late**

1) white tee shirt - a true classic piece and essential to any women's wardrobe. Can go with anything.
2) Grey tee shirt - like the white tee. it is a classic essential for any women's wardrobe.
3) Graphic tee - I chose the Carpe Diem one because I do have one similar with "Carpe Diem" written on it, except it is black, but either color would go with this weekend capsule.
4) Red cardigan - I have one from Charlotte Russe, and I wear it all the time. It is lightweight, and looks really good on.
5) Cheetah print scarf - Another essential.
6) Sneakers - When running around Ireland, comfy shoes are essential. Just a couple of options.
7) Jeans - two options. I have black jeans and lighter jeans with me here and I will probably just take one pair, but no one is going to notice that I've worn them for the whole weekend. Jeans are something that can be worn a few times before needing to be washed.

Let's put it together. All these pieces can be worn mixed and matched together and look chic. That is the magic behind it. The white tee can be worn with the scarf or the cardigan, or with both. As well as the other tee shirts. Light or dark jeans could be matched with all the outfits, and the grey or white sneakers would also work with any of those combinations. I actually really like grey sneakers. I need to get a pair (mine are white). Another thing I wanted to quickly mention were the color swatches. Choosing colors that go well together and compliment each other make creating the wardrobe, and choosing items for the weekend a lot easier.

Let me know if anyone wants to see more of these types of capsule wardrobe posts! Or if you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

{Fashion} 1 tee 3 ways

1 tee 3 ways

Something I have learned since traveling a lot and living abroad is the power of the white tee. It has become an absolute staple in my wardrobe and I can't believe I had only decided on getting a couple of white shirts in the fall. A white tees can be worn so many ways that it is almost ridiculous. It can go with anything.

So here we go, the first look, on the far left, I think is my favorite and I feel like it almost has an Audrey Hepburn vibe to it. A white tee tucked into the black skirt is timeless, plus tucking it would help to give an hourglass shape. The shoes are adorable, but classic being black. Cat eye sunglasses give quite a statement, and the white purse completes the look.

Middle look: This is exactly the sort of outfit that I will be wearing when I am a working professional. The White tee goes perfect with the pants, and the nude pants, shoe and purse really makes the teal blazer really pop. It would even look really cute with jeans.

Far right: Pretty much my go to look. Except I tote around a longchamp bag and not a Louis Vuitton one, but patterned scarves create so many outfits with white tee shirts, and a pair of comfy sneakers completes the look. I would wear those everyday if I had a pair. I really would like to get grey sneakers, I think they are so chic.

Hope you enjoy these ideas and use them to create some of your own!

XOXO,
Kelsey

2015 Christmas Wishlist

2015 Christmas Wishlist by hellosimpleme1 featuring a matte eyeshadow

The final countdown for the Christmas rush has begun and gifts are being bought, wrapped and placed under the Christmas tree's. This year my wishlist is shorter than any other year, I am traveling abroad in February for 4 months and my desires are more travel based than anything else. I am excited to see what the new year will bring, and to have the experience of traveling abroad. That is surely a gift in itself, not everyone gets to travel and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity. So talking about my wishlist, I am hoping for a Navy Vineyard vines hat, a Starbucks gift card, #girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, a white button-down, the naked2 palette, Chanel Lipstick in Passion, and a red plaid scarf. There is always a chance that I won't get everything, and that doesn't bother me. The makeup I will most likely buy for myself for my birthday (February). Getting gifts isn't the most important thing about the holiday's but, it is fun to post this and to see what other bloggers are wishing for this holiday season.

Happy Holidays!!!

Work Out Inspo

Work Out Inspo

Hello beautiful people of the blogger-world; I mentioned in my last post about how I am trying to be healthier and lead a more active lifestyle and so today I bring you a work out gear post.

I am going to list and then talk about the items above:

1. A good sports bra: This is essential for women. Especially as a woman with a larger bust, and those of you with larger busts can agree that trying to concentrate on your work out but having your bust bouncing can make you feel uncomfortable, distracted, and unfocused. A sports bra that keeps my chest secure leaves me able to focus on what I am doing completely, not to mention they come in really cute colors and styles.
2. Yoga Capris/leggings: As someone who doesn't really like shorts, work out capris are a must have. My favorite ones are from Old Navy's Active line. They are comfortable and I always am complemented on them.
3. Favorite Headphones: Headphones or earbuds are a must for working out. Create the perfect workout playlist using Spotify, Pandora, or buy a few songs and make your own playlist. I really like the new Fall Out Boy, and Imagine Dragons albums for working out.
4. Perfect Kicks: My dad just recently bought my a new pair of sneakers from Adidas and I absolutely love them. Normally I go for black sneakers, but I fell in love with a pink pair and wow they are neon, but I love them anyway. Comfortable sneakers are good for supporting your knees, back and posture while working out.
5. Water is essential: Find a water bottle, doesn't have to be fancy, and drink, drink, drink. Water is essential, 75% of Americans are dehydrated, and that is not good. I've been drinking ALOT more water and keeping track with my FitBit app, and I feel better, and even feel less hungry throughout the day.
6. FitBit: Now this is not an essential, a classic pencil and paper will do with a pedometer, but if you have the opportunity to get a FitBit or something similar, they are absolutely incredible. Mine keeps me accountable and I find myself checking it often to make sure I achieve my step goal. With FitBit you can also log what you eat, your water intake, and it can wake you up in the morning with vibrations. Which at first I wasn't sure if that would wake me up, but it does! I have the FitBit Charge, and I absolutely love it.
7. Hair ties: Get your hair out of your face and out of mind! I braid my bangs back, or use a hair band to keep my hair in place while it is in a pony tail or bun.

Well, hello

Summertime

Well, hello all of you beautiful people. Long time I suppose. I hope everyone is doing well in this marvelous month of June. So much has been changing in my life; I'm going abroad again in 2016, I'm in a new relationship, I turned 20, I've minimized my wardrobe... hold up.. what? Yes, you read that correctly. I've gotten rid of 5 6 garbage bags filled with clothes (I donated them), and I only kept pieces that I love dearly. I'm obsessed with "Capsule Wardrobes" and "Packing Light" because I am going to be living abroad in 2016 and must past for 4 months in one suitcase, check out my Pinterest board HERE on "packing light" and capsule wardrobes. Also you can check out my other pins if you want ;)

I'm excited for what this summer is bringing. I am trying to be healthier, I have a FitBit (my mother bought it for me thinking that it will help me to be healthier) and it is AMAZING! I plan on doing a post about it (I actually have a list of posts that I want to do, I think currently i'm at like 80 or something ;) ).  I've been eating better, getting up before work to walk the dog, and my bike is fixed now so I can ride it in the morning and I am super excited. And today I re-arranged my room and it feels SO MUCH BIGGER, and has a good vibe to it. I will be able to lay out my yoga mat and do some stretches and a quick workout my boyfriend (he is a exercise science major) made for me.

I hope all of your summers are going well, you will be hearing from me soon!
