Photo Shoot at the Beach

Sunday, November 17, 2013

Hey everyone! Today I have sort of a OOTD except you can't really see my outfit. My best friend took the pictures but he didn't really take any specifically of my outfit but the ones that he took DID turn out nice so cudos-to-you Caleb!! (Btw.. thats his car in the first Image I am leaning against. its a 2006 Honda Civic. Her name is eL.)

The whole point of it was more of the sunset and me walking in the end- I was hoping more OOTD style but he is also a guy interested in cars and had no idea what he was doing but I thank you anyway for taking the pictures Caleb:)

So it was a really nice day and we decided to hang out and somehow ended up at the beach!

I had a good time with him- I didn't get back to the dorm till 3:30AM but thats alright because time with my best friend is time never wasted or dull for that matter :)

I love this image above tho- its my favorite I believe. It was fun having him take the pictures too! I appreciate it Caleb!

My jeans are Simply Vera by Vera Wang
My grey V-Neck Tee shirt is from Old Navy
The plum jacket is from APT. 9
& the shoes I'm wearing & have in my hand are grey moccasins from Minnetonka.
(Jewelry details are down below)

These two rings and the other ring in a following picture are from Deb, they were in a set. They were on sale for $1.99 and I love the stacked/thin/multiple rings look so I decided to buy them.

The only reason that this is edited is because I was without makeup and my hair was crazy- this was a spur of the moment photo shoot- so please don't mind.

My gorgeous new watch from Charlotte Ruse (it was $16). Reminds me of the Michael Kors one.
I almost bought a yellow bag yesterday that was a line-for-line inspired one by Michael Kors- I didn't get it because I knew I was going to spend $$ at target but then I later saw a lady with a real one and I nudged Caleb in the arm and showed him and he was impressed that I knew what I was talking about!! haha

From the set from Deb

& in these images you can see how long my hair is now- its really long. So be prepared for when I suddenly have it cut.
Part of me is still debating. I want my hair stylist to show me how short it would be before she cuts it and if its too short I won't do it and will let it grow more before I make the cut so its not TOO short, but I am really hoping to do it over thanksgiving.

Okay I've spent a hour uploading the images and writing this post. I should probably work on some homework. ( I have a presentation due tomorrow. I'm so nervous guys).

Have a good day!!

Remember

Friday, November 15, 2013

I've been working out. I joined crew so I've been working out every day and right now I am SO SORE. But I keep looking at the mirror and get excited about the healthy changes I am making to my body.
So if any of you are working out a lot, trying to keep up with your resolutions before we hit the new year of 2014, and are not seeing the results that you want? Remember that quote above ^.
"Remember why you started."
It really is that simple.
Feel empowered when you are working out. Remember that you are doing so much more than those who are just laying on the couch saying that they will "work out tomorrow" Bullcarp. They won't. but you will! If you keep it up you will become addicted to the feeling of it! Its amazing!

I have to get up at 5AM on tuesdays and thursdays to run stairs (tues) and do cross fit (thurs) and I hate getting up that early and feel sick to my stomach every time. but after I am done I think. Okay that could have been worse. Stairs are the hardest for me. But I managed to do 40 mins with the Varsity Rowers. My body can do it there is no doubt but its just mental. Its about putting your mind over matter and pushing through. Think of the results, how you will feel after you run those stairs, exhausted, tired, but you will feel accomplished afterwords. You will be able to go "______name_____ look at what you did today! I bet a lot of other people didn't do that today!"

All the power to you! YOU CAN DO THIS! And just think- if you get in the habit nowww... think about how easily that 'work out' resolution will be in Jan. 2014!

Ok- I have row in a half hour.

Hope you feel inspired!
You CAN do this.

Chic and Comfort

Chic and Comfort

Chic and Comfort by hellosimpleme-1 featuring True Religion

I'm thinking about cutting my long hair. Its almost down to my [natural] waist and all I ever do anymore is have it up in a bun. I always straightened it in HS but now that I am in college I would rather catch a few more mins of shut eye than torture my hair at 430 degrees. (I use heat protectant- yes :] )

I was looking at one of my favorite bloggers blogs (she lives in Germany) and she has shorter hair. So I was feeling inspired and created this look. I wanted it to feel European (although I don't know if I truly hit it or not- probably not but its comfortable and chic so yeah- ). And what I would want to wear the day after I cut my hair. I love the mix of textures with this look. Its very fall.

It [cutting my hair] wouldn't be for nothing though. I would be donating it to Pantene [click the link!] to make wigs for cancer patients!

& You do realize now that I mentioned it on my blog.... I really am going to cut it off now right? Maybe some of you with long hair will do the same.

It will be done over thanksgiving most likely! Thats when my hair appointment is for. hhmmmmm.
I'm bound to put pictures up!

Stuck

Stuck on you

OMG- yeah. Another sweater polyvore post! I mean come on' Kels, you only post every so often now cause of school... but GUYSSS LOOKKKKK... they have animals on them :D They are sweaters + cute animals. You CAN'T go wrong with that.

Yeah so its official. I am still stuck on sweaters.  And its getting colder here at school so that makes it even more sweater season and I need to buy a few more- but I just bought some new yoga pants (want a recent clothing hall when they come in? Leave a comment and let me know, it will be Old Navy + Lane Bryant)

I saw the bunny one first and subconsciously went 'oh no... not another sweater post..' but have mercy because its that time of year again;) Sorry i've been so boring recently with all the sweaters. I am obsessed.

I am happy I managed to sneak in this post in between working on my final presentation for my Fashion class and my presentation for my Criminal justice class as well.

Hang in there guys: Thanksgiving then Christmas breaks will be here soon and I will be able to post more then ;) school is just so insane- and I just joined a sport, so to throw a sport into the mix makes it even more insane than before BUT it is wonderful via working out and such and clears my mind.  I keep using it as a reason but seriously... other college bloggers will probably know how I  feel. I've been meaning to do a Liebster Award post again- I got my 2nd nomination! I am so excited!! So I need to do that soon :) Its been written in my planner since I saw I was nominated again.

OH- With christmas around the corner.. what are you guys wishing for this christmas?
I will tell you mine soon-

XOXO

The Essentials: Mid-Term Week

The Essentials

Its Here! Our NOT so favorite time of year for college students ( besides our least favorite.. Finals... ) MID-TERMS! And they are here everybody. I had one this morning at 11:45AM so I was like- why not do a Mid-Term blog post! I decided to go on polyvore and do a visual- a visual of lots of goodies to make studying for mid-terms so much better.

1) SWEATERS & YOGA PANTS: Ideal for in the dorm or in the 24/7 lounge till 3 am, comfortable and with a pair of boots can even make it to class. ( love the Chanel F*CK one- so perfect for midterms and definitely one to wear for finals)

2) FUZZY SOCKS: its october! Getting chilly on the eastern side, so fuzzy socks are a must for cold tiled dorm floors.

3) BLANKETS AND COFFEE: Perfect combo for a cold day, especially for that all nighter

4) SCHOOL SUPPLIES: index cards, index cards, index cards... (a KEY way to memorize important information) Pens, and notebook to write because repetition is key. Highlighers- makes everything pretty and personally when I highlight (specifically yellow) I remember things better.. Dunno for some reason i can picture the question/answer/ect in my head when it was highlighted in yellow

5) GLASSES: ya need your specs to see... wouldn't that be a good thing!?

Hope you enjoyed- and  have a WONDERFUL Mid-term week (mine is this coming week but I had one midterm test today so off to study I go!)

XOXO

Night Out in Style

Lets go Dancing

I haven't gone out dancing yet since I've been here at college, but I'm currently thinking about it since its friday nightt....

So this look is totally gorgeous. The dress with the cut out sides is sexy but the sweetheart neckline tones it down some.

I picked out 6 pair of black booties/heels  that would look AMAZING with this fabulous dress.  I picked some with gold detailing because the dress almost has a gold/yellow tone to the bust. So I figured gold hardware would work perfectly...

The bottom row of shoes the left one is my favorite. (Right underneath the 'Lets' in "Lets go dancing"

Which pair is your favorite??

Perfect for Fall

Perfect for Fall

So happy October first! I love the changing of the months since the fashions change, the leaves are changing... & the nerd side of me loves the look of a new month-by-month spread on a planner. Clean and crisp with no white out marker all over it!

:)

So here's a look perfect for fall and, if you wanted a dark purple scarf could be added if you wanted to take off the necklace and be a bit warmer on a chilly day. Also a pair of tights, maybe a plum pair to go with the scarf would look fabulous as well! With the Coral bag tho and the plum i'm not so sure but i'm sure a brown purse or clutch could easily be swapped in!

Hope your day is wonderful!

XOXO
