OOTD: Casually Peach

Hey lovelies! I have a OOTD post for you! Today I went to lunch with a good friend of mine after Church got done at 11:30 and here is what I was wearing for that event!
My hair was pretty boring and straight today.
My makeup was minimal, I do not wear much during the summer. Anyone interested in seeing a tutorial? Leave a comment :)
Closer view of the scarf.. It was a grad present its soo pretty!

And there are my black bootcut jeans!

(Not shown are my Sperry Docksiders which I wore with this outfit. they are a classic brown)

v-neck is from old navy, scarf was a grad present, and jeans are from Rue 21.

Blueberry buckle, masks and my dog Faeden

Saturday, June 29, 2013

Good morning Lovelies! I have a random-ish post for you all today. Just some pictures of things from today....

Blueberry buckle my mom made (I added some strawberries and blueberries to the mix) yummmmmmmmmmm :)

My friend gave me a couple of room decor type items for my dorm room as grad presents including this beautiful mask, it goes with my room perfectly. There are two beautiful masks but this one is my favorite because of the feather.
And this last picture is of my golden retriever (Faeden) and Myself. He's such a big dog (he is 2 and weighs like 130+ Ibs). He is such a good companion.

I am going to start taking pictures of any good outfits I'm wearing (when I get up before noon and am not lazy wearing mesh shorts and teeshirts) but it is summer, and although its lame to say it I don't normally get really dressed up in the summer because I normally have to work each day and, for that I have a uniform. Dumb excuse but on days I don't work, I may get dressed up and have my sister take some pictures and start doing OOTD posts, because I love reading those posts on other peoples blogs and I would love to start doing that on mine.

What do you think? I would love your opinion!

XOXO
(OHHH if you notice in the first picture, my hair is two toned now! I had my stylist dye my under-layers a deep red. And I have to say that i LOVE IT!)

Collective Empty Items Post for June

Monday, June 24, 2013

So todays post is a interesting one because I have never done something like this post ever before....
and this is going to by my Collective Empty Items Post
I've seen some beauty bloggers do this occasionally and so I decided that I was going to try it and see how it went. So above in the image are the items that I have emptied over the last couple months [Couple months what?! To explain; today I cleaned out my makeup vanity... and thats why I am now coming up with all these items... why I didnt throw them away before I dont know, but these are from the past couple months that I found today... some items are recent and some are not]

[1]
Wet n Wild Natural Blend Pressed Powder

[2]
E.l.f. Higlighter and Undereye Concealer
This product comes in two parts, the part that was used first was the under eye concealer

[3]
Maybelline Falsies Mascara

[4]
E.l.f. Cream Eyeliner

[5]
Covergirl Clean Normal Skin in Classic Ivory

[6]
Clinique Touch Base for Eyes in 17 Nude Rose

[7]
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

[8]
Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express

[9]
Covergirl Clean Sensitive Skin 225 Buff Beige

[10]
E.l.f Eyelid Primer

My favorite products from this post would have to be the Clinique Touch Base and the Elf eyelid Primer. The Clinique Touch Base my grandmother gave me in a bag of items she had gotten and didnt want and I have to say it is one that I will be purchasing myself in the future. The Elf Primer, its only $1 and it is a awesome product. I love elf products and that one really keeps your eyeshadows all day.

All Products bought by hellosimpleme except Clinique Touch Base; That was given to me by my Grandmother.

Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
Wet N Wilds Cover All Coverup in Light
Wet N Wilds Mega Glow all over Shimmer
CoverGirl Eyeshadow Single in Vanilla
3 Sinful Colors Nail Polishes in (from left to right) Vacation Time, Easy Going, and Ruby Ruby

Went to Rite Aid with my Sister to get some new gel eyeliner and mascara but ended up getting a few other products as well. I am thinking that I will definitely review the eyeliner and the mascara, maybe the Wet N Wild products as well, I have a few other nail polishes from Sinful Colors so a review on them would probably be a do in the future.

Disclaimer: Products all bought with MY own money taken from my OWN bank account.

I already applied the nail polishes and I love the colors. Ive been really into dark colors recently which is strange because it is Summer Time so maybe i am just season confused.

Hope you all are having a good day!

Welcome Summer 2013

Top 10 Summer Picks for: June

Top Row: The Power of Style (1), Vintage Tee From Old Navy (2), Goody Ouchless No Metal Elastics (3)
Second Row: Maybelline Baby Lips (4), Sally Hanson X-Treme Nail Polish in Mint Sorbet (5), Philips Headphones (6), Maybelline Ulta-Liner in Waterproof Black (7), Covergirl BB Cream in shade 810 (8), Pandora (9) and Finally Vaseline total moisture cocoa radiant rich feeling lotion (10)

(1)
the Power of Style by Bobbie Thomas
My Mom bought this for me as a bribe for getting a scholarship essay done and I am so glad I did! It is such an insightful book full of useful information. I havent gotten all the way through with it yet but I am a little less than half way finished, it is sure to be one I read and re-read all summer long! Recomend  this book for any fashionista!

(2)
Vintage Tees from Old Navy
I have SOOOO many of these and they are super light and I have been wearing them everyday for the past few weeks. They have different neck cuts and so I have two that are crew necks and the rest are v-necks. I believe I have about 10 of these in different colors. (I bought them on sale last summer)

(3)
Goody Ouchless No Metal Elastics
Pack of 24 for about $3? Should last for most of the summer! I love these hairbands! They are tight around your wrist at first until you use them a few times ( I tend to forget they are there and sleep with them on: resulting in those awful marks on my wrist in the morning).

(4)
Maybelline Baby Lips
Besides Softlips these have to be my favorite lip balm! The one in the picture is the Sunscreen one so its clear but I also have a different one that is in the shade Pink Punch and that one does definitely give lips color!

(5)
Sally Hanson X-Treme Nail Polish in Mint Sorbet
My favorite spring and summer color! I generally use two coats and it stays on for few days without chipping.

(6)
Philips Headphones
Been using these babys for a few months (got them for Christmas) and I really like them! The quality is high, and I believe they came with a one year warranty.

(7)
Maybelline Ulta-Liner in Waterproof Black
This is another item that I have been using for a while and really like. I like the brush, and it applies easily which I am thankful for. It was kinda expensive but has lasted for a few months so it seems to end up paying for itself.

(8)
Covergirl BB Cream in shade 810
I have been LOVING this stuff. Only a little bit is needed for it goes a long way. It has a nice formula and glides easily over the skin.

(9)
Pandora
My skrillex playlist. Enough said. ;)

(10)
Vaseline total moisture cocoa radiant rich feeling lotion
Have used this baby for a long while, I believe I have had the bottle for over a year and there is about a third left which isnt bad. I normally just use it for my legs so that might be why its taken me so long to use it but it smells sooooo good and I love putting it on.

Bond Girl Nails

Friday, June 7, 2013

So its raining and boring today, and my mint nails were chipping so I decided to repaint them. They are in the same style as my summer nail tutorial but with different colors.
Cant really tell but the base color is a deep purple, its so pretty.
When I was doing them I thought it kinda reminded me of the Bond Girl from Skyfall. With the deep purple gold and the white, I think thats what I am going to call them.
(Little late but hey thats alright!)

Playing Vintage

Thursday, June 6, 2013

I had no idea what I was going to blog about today, but then suddenly... I did

One of my close friends is having a 'Gatsby' themed birthday party for her 17th birthday today, and when I told my Mother about it, she suggested I go over to my Great Aunt's house to see if I could wear one of her mothers (my Great Grandmothers) hats. When I had gone over she said she would locate them and then have me come over to view them; when I got a phone call from her this morning, she told me that she had also found one of my Great Grandmothers dresses, and some pearls of hers!

She told me to go up into the back bedroom and in the closet was where the hat boxes were. So I went up and as I pulled the Hats out of the boxes and began looking through them I began to think about my Great Grandmother.

The above picture is some of the hats that I found, she actually made most of her own hats which I think is absolutely fabulous and makes wearing one all the more special.

Here I am Playing dress up with a fedora and vintage camera that were on the dresser in the back bedroom while hat hunting          :)

My Great Grandmothers name was Lenora. I think that name is absolutely beautiful. My dad and aunt Melissa always tell how they use to say "Momo is a snob" (we grand- and great granchildren called her Momo). Which she could have been but I believe it was because she was a proper LADY, and they were not raised as she was. One of my favorite parts about Lenora is that she was a flapper ;) Yes, she really was! I wish I had the picture to show you but in the picture she has her hair in a bob, long pearls on, and a flapper dress, she actually WORE those dresses and it just blows my mind.    She was, I believe, 101 or 102 when she passed away, I was very very young when she died but I do remember some things about her.                                       Something that is really special to me is that I absolutely love the Roarin 20's and thirties, and if I could pick any time period I would want to live in that time period. I know it was much more difficult than the times today, but what makes it amazing is that Lenora lived through it all, the Great Depression, both world wars, Vietnam, she had seen so much and I think thats why I am so drawn to her.                              When I came downstairs with the hat I picked out to wear with the blue dress of Lenora's, I told my Aunt that someday I would love to inherit all of Momo's hats, and she said she didn't see why not! So someday I will have a beautiful hat collection of vintage hats to show you all.
I really feel honored to be able to wear Lenora's dress, hat and pearls to the party tonight! When I put the dress on to make sure it fit... it fit perfectly, gliding smoothly and oh its so simple but its so beautiful in its simplicity. When I was completely dressed up and standing in the mirror I thought about how much I really do love vintage items and that they belonged to my Great Grandmother made them even more special to me. And I am sure my Great Aunt thought it was wonderful that I was wearing them too, I feel as if Lenora is smiling down at me:) She was such a amazing woman.

Here I am dressed up, I took the picture with my phone and edited it to Sepia because back in the 20's it would not of been in color. I don't know if they had Sepia yet but I liked it in the Sepia.

For the party I am going to put my hair in hot rollers, and tuck my long layers underneath to make it shorter as if I had bobbed it! For my makeup I am not sure yet but I am going to do some reasearch about looks from the 20's.

I am probably going to do a follow up post about this within the next couple of days once I am completely dressed up and such. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

I really like the way this video turned out. When comparison to my other videos, yeah, I know they are not good whatsoever and I will be the first to admit to it, but NOW I have the equipment (My new Macbook) to make decent videos and edit them from now on. I hope that the past horrible videos can be forgiven. I wont delete them, because they are a step in showing how I've improved but they are not my favorite hahahah.

I hope you enjoy!

So this is what its like...

To be the proud owner of a Macbook Pro! It came today and so all evening I've been playing with the apps, and discovered some fun editing that can be done on the iMovie. Expect me to be filming a video tomorrow!

Recently, I haven't felt that pull to my blog. To figure out what I want to blog about and then making time to actually type it up, ect. But now that I have a new Laptop.... I am soooooo feeling that pull and wanting to blog. I will probably do anther post but fashion related tonight once I figure out what I want to write about.

I love typing on this keyboard... it doesnt make that aweful noise when pressing the keys like my old laptop did. I know for sure I have a DIY planned for coming up soon, not sure if I want to do it as a post or as a video, maybe I will do it as both.... :)

I know, I keep saying that I will post more and blah blah blah, (I havent really) but..... school is out... I have my new laptop... and I am ready to blog....
